Eranos Colloquia 2024: Bridges between Matter and Spirit

The Aragno Eranos Publishing House Ascona, in collaboration with the Eranos Foundation and Nino Aragno Publishing House, promotes for the first time a cycle of cultural meetings, between Switzerland and Italy, named Eranos Colloquia. The theme chosen for 2024 is "Bridges between Matter and Spirit," around which a number of leading specialists from humanistic and scientific disciplinary fields will speak.

Matter and spirit, at first glance, would seem opposites and irreconcilable. Yet, important scholars associated with the Eranos Conferences, such as psychologist Carl Gustav Jung, philosopher and Iranist Henry Corbin, anthropologist Gilbert Durand, and psychologist James Hillman, revealed a possible way to "heal the rift." Indeed, the answer should be found, in their view, in the mediating function of imagination. A lesson that still offers valuable resources for thinking about these two dimensions of existence and reality. The meetings, each privileging a particular disciplinary point of view, will address the theme of the relationship between the two dimensions, presenting original contributions to an ancient question that never ceases to question us.

The seven appointments, to be held between February and November 2024, will take place at Monte Verità (Ascona), Palazzo Bellono Aragno (Via Corte d'Appello, 14, Turin), and Villa Tornaforte Aragno (Via della Battaglia, 7, Cuneo).
